Aftermath of online cheating
KUSHIRO, Japan - Applicants for an entrance examination held on March 8, 2011, at Kushiro Public University of Economics place their cellphones, in transparent plastic bags distributed by the university to stem online cheating, on the desks. Schools in Japan have begun taking tougher measures to prevent cheating at their entrance exams in the wake of the arrest March 3 of a 19-year-old student for allegedly disrupting a university entrance exam in February by soliciting answers online via a cellphone from the exam room.
