KESENNUMA, Japan - Junior high school students on the quake and tsunami-hit island of Oshima, Miyagi Prefecture, on April 6, 2011, put on hats given by U.S. military personnel engaged in relief efforts on the island. Relations between Japan and the United States could be in the best state ever according to sources close to the U.S. State Department, following U.S. support to deal with the aftermath of the March 11 disaster.
