Comedian admits mother had lived on welfare
TOKYO, Japan - Comedian Junichi Komoto holds a press conference at the Tokyo headquarters of Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., the entertainment company he belongs to, on May 25, 2012. The popular comedian, who with Satoshi Inoue forms the standup comedy duo Jicho Kacho, publicly offered an apology after confirming media reports that his mother, despite having a high-income-earning son, had received welfare benefits for 14 to 15 years until April, when the rumor started.
