ANA's 'Gundam' plane departs for 30th anniversary
TOKYO, Japan - Officials hold up a banner marking an inaugural flight of its Boeing 777-300 passenger plane bearing the images of Gundam, the titular robot character from the popular sci-fi animation, near the plane at Tokyo's Haneda airport on July 16, 2010 before it leaves for Osaka. ANA will fly the special Boeing 777-300 through next March on routes across Japan under a joint project with toymaker Bandai Co. and others to mark the 30th anniversary of the release of the ''Mobile Suit Gundam'' plastic model kit.
