Evacuees visit homes within 3 km of Fukushima plant for 1st time
HIRONO, Japan - Kikuko Tatebayashi, wearing radiation protection gear, finds her wedding band in a case as she returns to her home in Futaba, Fukushima Prefecture, within 3 kilometers of the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, on Aug. 26, 2011. Tatebayashi was among nearly 150 evacuees from areas within 3 km of the plant who were allowed to visit their homes for the first time in five and a half months since the complex was crippled by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
