Japan's ruling party prepares for leadership election
TOKYO, Japan - Hirofumi Hirano, a former Japanese chief Cabinet secretary, heads for a meeting with other lawmakers of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan in Tokyo on Aug. 20, 2010, to discuss a plan to urge the party's kingpin Ichiro Ozawa to run in the DPJ presidential election to challenge Prime Minister Naoto Kan.
