Journalist Tachibana dies at 80
File photo taken in July 1987 shows journalist Takashi Tachibana meeting the press in Tokyo after a high court ruling on a bribery scandal involving U.S. aerospace manufacturer Lockheed Corp. Tachibana, whose investigative reporting played a vital role in revealing the Lockheed scandal and forcing Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka to step down in 1974, died of acute coronary syndrome at 80 on April 30, 2021.
