General Sir Ian Standish Monteith Hamilton (1853-1947), British army officer, best known for commanding the ill-fated Mediterranean Expeditionary Force in the Dardanelles during the Battle of Gallipoli. He also served in the First and Second Boer Wars, the Second Anglo-Afghan War, the Mahdist War, and the Russo-Japanese War.
