The graves of three victims of a North Sea outrage, Hull, Yorkshire. The Dogger Bank Incident (or 'Russian Outrage') occurred on 22 October 1904, when the Russian fleet, on its way to take part in the Russo-Japanese War, mistook 48 British trawlers for an Imperial Japanese Navy force. Two British seamen (George Henry Smith and William Richard Leggett) drowned, and another (Walter Whelpton) died from shock in May 1905. Date: 1910s
