Environment disputes over Japan bay
FUKUOKA, Japan - Fishermen line up their boats in Isahaya Bay in Nagasaki Prefecture, southwestern Japan, on Sept. 10, 2010, staging a ''sea rally'' to urge the government to reopen the gates on the dike (back). Fishermen, farmers and other residents around the bay have been split over whether to reopen the gates on the 7-kilometer-long dike, which the government closed in 1997 for farmland reclamation and disaster prevention.
