Amphibious bus on trial cruise in Lake Suwa

NAGANO, Japan - An amphibious bus makes a trial cruise on Lake Suwa, Nagano Prefecture, on Nov. 17 as Suwa city and the city tourist association look into the commercial feasibility of the service as a tourist attraction. The trial event proved popular as the city offered free rides to 240 people and received applications from 1,800. The bus, with a capacity of 40 passengers, has a maximum land speed of 120 kilometers per hour and a maximum speed of 15 kph on water. (Kyodo)
