M'bishi Electric launches air conditioner with user-detecting se

TOKYO, Japan - Mitsubishi Electric Corp. said on Dec. 13 it has put on the market a new air conditioner (in handout photo) which has an infrared sensor that detects the presence of people and their location in a room. The air conditioner will automatically switch to an energy-saving operational mode if it does not detect a human presence in a room. By detecting the location of people, the air conditioner's fan can change direction and avoid blowing directly at them. (Kyodo)

    TOKYO, Japan - Mitsubishi Motors Corp. said on June 21 it will roll out the Pajero TR4 Flex, its first vehicle to run completely on ethanol, in Brazil in July, in an effort to establish a stronger presence in the fast-growing alternative fuel car market.
