S. Korea parliament votes to reopen probe on presidential hopefu
SEOUL, South Korea - South Korean presidential front-runner Lee Myung Bak of the opposition Grand National Party campaigns during a visit to the city of Suwon on Dec. 17. South Korea's parliament passed a bill on Dec. 17 to reopen an investigation into fraud allegations against Lee, who is suspected of involvement in a 2001 stock price manipulation and an embezzlement scandal involving a former business partner. The vote came two days before the country goes to the polls to elect a new president. (Kyodo)
