DPJ Tokyo assembly member offers to resign over drunk driving

TOKYO, Japan - Mito Kakizawa, a Tokyo metropolitan assembly member from the Democratic Party of Japan, announces his resignation at a press conference in Tokyo on Feb. 12. Kakizawa was allegedly driving drunk when he crashed his car into the median strip on the Metropolitan Expressway No. 5 route in Tokyo's Itabashi Ward on Feb. 9. (Kyodo)
