Up to 6.4 C temperature rise expected by end of century
TOKYO, Japan - Ice from the Ilulissat Glacier in Greenland falls off into the sea in a photo taken in October 2006. A U.N. climate change panel warned on Feb. 2 that the Earth's average surface air temperature is projected to rise by up to 6.4 C from the 1990 level by the end of this century, revising upward its projection made in 2001 to show more serious concern over global warming.
