Colonel Sanders statue found in Osaka 24 yrs after Hanshin win

OSAKA, Japan - Reporters and camera crew surround a statue of Kentucky Fried Chicken founder Colonel Sanders in Osaka on March 11 after its upper- and lower- halves were recovered separately from a river in Osaka on March 10 and 11. When Japan's Central League baseball team Hanshin Tigers won the league title in 1985, exited Tigers fans tossed the statue into the river because they thought it resembled Randy Bass, who was then the American slugger for the team.
