Man fires 9 shots from apartment after shooting gangster to deat

TOKYO, Japan - Police officers seal off a road that leads to an apartment in Machida, Tokyo where a man armed with a handgun barricaded himself on April 20. He had allegedly shot a gangster to death before fleeing into the apartment and fired nine shots out into the open from the apartment. One of the shots hit a police car, but otherwise no one was hurt and no hostages appear to have been taken, the police said. (Kyodo)
