Nintendo names next game console 'Wii'

TOKYO, Japan - Nintendo Co. said on April 28 it has decided to name its next-generation game console ''Wii'' before the new product's debut later this year. The name, sounding like ''we'' in English, means that every family member can enjoy playing the new machine, the company said. The new console will feature a controller that can be operated with one hand. (Kyodo)
