Japanese climber Arayama becomes oldest to scale Mt. Everest

TOKYO, Japan - Takao Arayama (file photo taken in July 2003 in Norway), a Japanese climber aged 70 years, 7 months and 13 days, scaled Mt. Everest on May 17. He became the oldest person in the world to achieve the feat. The photo was provided by his family. (Kyodo)
