Fishing boat cut in two, capsizes after collision with freighter

OSAKA, Japan - A 4.3-ton fishing boat is cut in two and capsizes after colliding with the 6,395-ton Panamanian freighter Mighty Dandy in the Seto Inland Sea off Kagawa Prefecture on May 7. Two people on the fishing boat were thrown into the sea, and one of them -- a 46-year-old woman -- was missing. The skipper of the fishing boat was rescued by a Japan Coast Guard vessel which happened to be near the scene, officials said. (Kyodo)
