Frenchman starts Japan course of trans-Eurasia run

FUKUOKA, Japan - Serge Girard, a 52-year-old Frenchman, waves at the start of the Japan course in the last leg of his trans-Eurasia road run on July 13 in front of the Fukuoka municipal government building in Fukuoka. He plans to finish the 19,300-kilometer run, which started in Paris in Dec. 17, in Tokyo on Sept. 13D(Kyodo)
