Group of 5 leaders call for cooperation on Beijing Olympics
SAPPORO, Japan - (From L to R) South African President Thabo Mbeki, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Mexican President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa, Chinese President Hu Jintao and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh meet the press after a meeting in Sapporo, Hokkaido, on July 8 at which they called for worldwide cooperation to make next month's Beijing Olympics a success. The Group of Five leaders are in Hokkaido for an ''outreach'' meeting with Group of Eight leaders on the third day of the three-day G-8 summit at the Windsor Hotel Toya in Toyako on July 9. (Kyodo)
