Nissan unveils prototype electric, hybrid vehicles

TOKYO, Japan - Nissan Motor Co. unveils a prototype of an all-electric vehicle (photo) to the media at its Oppama plant in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Aug. 6. The vehicle is powered by newly developed laminated lithium-ion batteries that deliver twice the power of conventional batteries while being much more compact, Nissan said. (Kyodo)
