Paul Johnson stresses West's role in war on terror

LONDON, England - Paul Johnson, whose books and articles enjoy an enthusiastic following among prominent conservatives in the United States and Britain, speaks at his London home in an interview with Kyodo News. He called Islam a ''Dark Age religion'' because he said unlike Christianity or Judaism, it has never modernized during its 1,500-year-long history.
