Demonstration experiment to remotely monitor the rearing environment of a piggery

NTT East is collaborating with the Kanagawa Prefecture Pig Farming Association (Ebina City) and the Kanagawa Prefecture Livestock Technology Center (Ebina City) to start a verification experiment to remotely monitor the rearing environment of pig barns using the IoT (Internet of Things). Sensors installed in the piggery (photo) will automatically collect temperature and humidity data. Network cameras will also be installed so that the environment in the piggery and the health of the pigs can be monitored on a computer at a remote location. The demonstration is scheduled to run until March 2020 in an environment-controlled piggery managed by the Kanagawa Prefecture Pig Farmers Association. In particular, the management of temperature and humidity, which affect the physical condition of pigs, requires a detailed response.
