Transgender soccer star Yokoyama marries girlfriend in U.S.

U.S.-based Japanese soccer player Kumi Yokoyama, seen in this file photo taken in March 2019, revealed on Instagram on Nov. 23, 2021 that the Washington Spirit forward who has publicly come out as a transgender man married their girlfriend in the United States. Yokoyama prefers the "they" pronoun, according to the team.
