Nonstop, solo Pacific crossing by Japanese yachtsman
Japanese adventurer Kenichi Horie poses at a press conference in Tokyo on Nov. 24, 2021, announcing a plan to embark on a nonstop solo voyage from San Francisco to Nishinomiya, western Japan, from March to June 2022. The 83-year-old, known for successfully sailing the Pacific solo and nonstop for the first time in the world in 1962, will be the oldest person to do so if the new adventure ends in success.
