Hundreds of indigenous leaders of all ethnic groups in Guatemala, take part during a Mayan ceremony today in the "Plaza Mayor" to protest against celebrating Independence Day, due it commemorates the founding of the racist and exclusive Guatemalan state. Protesters demanded the re-founding of the nation to constitute a multi-ethnic state in which their rights are recognized and the immediate resignation of President Alejandro Giammattei and Attorney General Consuelo Porras.
