Japan drops blanket halt of inbound flight bookings after criticism
Japanese Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Minister Tetsuo Saito meets the press in Tokyo on Dec. 2, 2021, following the government's decision to retract its plan to completely halt bookings for inbound international flights in December amid fears of the Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus. The measure was criticized as going too far, soon after its announcement by the ministry earlier in the week.
