Nonstop, solo Pacific crossing by Japanese yachtsman

Japanese adventurer Kenichi Horie poses for a photo on Jan. 24, 2022, in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, in front of Suntory Mermaid III, a yacht he will use in an attempt on a nonstop solo voyage from San Francisco to the western Japan city from March to June 2022. The 83-year-old, known for being the first to sail across the Pacific solo and nonstop in 1962, will be the oldest person to do so if successful.
