(220225) -- CHANGCHUN, Feb. 25, 2022 (Xinhua) -- Park rangers remove poachers' traps in Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park in northeast China, Feb. 23, 2022. In October 2021, China officially designated the Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park, which spans an area of over 1.4 million hectares in the northeastern provinces of Jilin and Heilongjiang. The latest data shows that the population of wild Siberian tigers in the park has expanded to 50, compared to 27 in 2017, when the pilot project of the park was launched. The park has implemented a series of measures to protect the wildlife, such as withdrawal of factories and mines and forest vegetation restoration. (Xinhua/Zhang Nan)
