We are now at the site of the crash. The Boeing 737 aircraft of China Eastern Airlines took off from Kunming and was bound for Guangzhou. It crashed at about 2:38 p.m., causing a mountain fire. The fire has been put out. But the terrain of the locality is complicated and the latest weather report has forecast torrential rain, which may further hamper the rescue. Hundreds of firefighters from Guangxi and neighboring Guangdong have arrived at the scene along with medical workers. China Eastern Airlines said on Monday that it has initiated an emergency response mechanism following the crash.
