Thanks to ecological restoration efforts, animals of 53 national protected species are living in the Helan Mountain National Nature Reserve in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Among them, 12 are under first-class national protection, including bustard, black stork, and 41 are under second-class national protection, including blue sheep, red deer and blue eared pheasant.
