Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said on Wednesday that Luxor and Aswan were included in the country's presidential initiative to replace old vehicles with new ones powered by natural gas.
The minister added that the state's public treasury paid 405 million Egyptian pounds (about 22 million U.S. dollars) for about 17,900 new cars allocated to citizens who completed the procedures on the website, including 16,750 private cars and 1,150 taxis and microbuses.
The initiative aims to attract investors to green projects to contribute to economic growth and achieve comprehensive and sustainable ways.
