STORYLINE:
Thailand's ancient city of Ayutthaya is holding a music heritage festival to celebrate Songkran, or Thai New Year.
Festivities are held to honor the centuries-old cultures and traditions of Songkran, while presenting modern-day entertaining elements, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
The TAT has arranged a host of age-old rituals and celebrations to enhance awareness about Ayutthaya's historical and cultural significance.
Celebrations are also being held in other places, including Bangkok, during this non-wet Songkran festival, which runs from April 13 to 15.
The Thai government canceled water splashing festivities this year for a third year in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
