During the past years, Dingcheng District in Changde has been renovating old houses and vacant campuses, and turning them into geriatric centers, as an effort to enhance elderly care services for the aged dwellers lacking family support. Co-sponsored by government and donation, the geriatric centers are installed with various functions including recreation, reading, resting, medical care and exercise.
