Egypt's imports from eastern and southern Africa declined dramatically at the end of 2021, the country's statistics authority said on Thursday.
The total value of Egyptian imports from the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) amounted to 15.8 million U.S. dollars in December 2021, compared to 31.4 million U.S. dollars in December 2020, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics said in a bulletin.
Among the COMESA countries, Egypt's imports from Tunisia, Libya, and Zimbabwe saw the sharpest declines.
