Divers to search inside sunken Hokkaido tour boat

Preparations are under way on the vessel Kaishin at Abashiri port in Hokkaido on May 18, 2022, ahead of its departure for a search inside a tour boat that sank off the Shiretoko Peninsula on Japan's northernmost main island last month, leaving 14 people dead and 12 missing. The divers aboard the vessel will attempt a special technique, known as saturation diving, for working at great depths.
