Four people have been confirmed dead and 41 others are injured after an earthquake jolted the city of Ya'an in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), a 6.1-magnitude earthquake rattled Lushan County of Ya'an in Sichuan, at 5 p.m. Wednesday Beijing Time.
The epicenter, with a depth of 17 km, was monitored at 30.4 degrees north latitude and 102.9 degrees east longitude.
The earthquake was followed by a 4.5-magnitude quake at 5:03 p.m. in Baoxing County, the city of Ya'an.
According to the city's earthquake relief headquarters, the earthquake caused 11 injuries in Lushan County, as well as 30 injuries and four deaths in Baoxing County. It added that the four people who die
