STORYLINE:
From June 3 to June 12, the city of Goma, located in the northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is hosting the Ishango Gathering, an annual gathering of artists, intellectuals, and communities dedicated to reinventing the place and possibilities of film art and storytelling in the contemporary world.
Named after the Ishango bone, a bone tool dated to the Upper Paleolithic era, the Ishango Gathering introduces a combination of film screenings, video and photo expositions, performances, panels, and scholarly debates that collectively voice for liberating Africa's future.
