"Deep Blue No. 1," located at about 130 nautical miles from the coast of the Yellow Sea of China, is the first fully submersible deep-sea fish farming equipment built by China. About 15,000 Atlantic salmons in the net cage of the fully submersible deep-sea fish farming equipment were fished during the period from May 22 to June 9, which marks China's first successful harvest of self-bred deep-sea Atlantic salmons. During the harvest season, the locals will start heading for alpine ground over 4,000 meters above sea level to collect the fungus. The caterpillar fungus harvest time can last over 40 days. For the locals, collecting this precious fungus offers them seasonal jobs and helps increase their income. "Haiwei-2" is a giant marine ranch carrying nearly 1 million golden pomfret fry of around 100 tonnes. Measuring 86 meters long, 32 meters wide, and 16.5 meters high, the giant platform boasts a capacity of 30,000 cubic meters of water for aquaculture and can harvest over 500 tonnes of fish within one cycle. Equipped with solar electricity system, the platform is self-sufficient in green energy, which enables unmanned operation and real-time remote monitoring.
