STORYLINE:
The Chinese medical team in Namibia has introduced modern Chinese Medicine Music Therapy (CMMT) to treat local patients, adding to their array of already popular Tradition Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapies.
CMMT employs the theory of five phases and five music scales to analyze and treat mind-body illness.
The Chinese medical team leader Zhou Haijiang said the therapy is conducted for a 20-minute session at the Katutura State Hospital.
The patient lies down comfortably, listening to the music through earphone, while acupuncture is also administered.
The different types of music focus on five types of organs, namely the liver, heart, spleen, lung and kidney.
