STORYLINE:
Several places in India's Mumbai were battered by heavy rains on Thursday, leading to heavy traffic and waterlogged roads.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad districts of Maharashtra state.
Orange Alert, the second-highest level of weather warning, calls for administrators to "be prepared." The city's disaster management authority was also on high alert and ready for any eventuality.
For Mumbai in particular, the IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas until Saturday, putting them at a higher risk of waterlogging.
