The zoo's lion supervisor Justine Powell said the three little lion cubs are all females. They are very healthy and putting on approximately 1 kg per week and transitioning well to a meat diet. It was a major milestone for the zoo's conservation program when the cubs were born in April as it was the first successful lion offspring since 2016. The zoo has also invited the public to visit and opened a naming competition on the website for one of the trio, as the other two are to be named by Zoo's Lion Keepers and Taronga Foundation supporters.
