STORYLINE:
The dyke breach of the Raoyang River in northeast China's Liaoning Province was closed on Saturday. Local rescue team has started sand dredging and drainage work.
The dyke breach occurred at 10:30 a.m., Monday. The city's flood control headquarters initiated the level-I emergency flood control response and sent 2,680 rescuers and 320 engineering and transport vehicles to the site. Flood-fighting materials such as sandbags and timber piles were also allocated to the site.
