STORYLINE:
One year has passed since the last batch of U.S. troops left Afghanistan at midnight on Aug. 30, 2021. The 20-year war has left the unsettled country with a horrific legacy.
Following the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington D.C., the United States accused Afghanistan of harboring Osama Bin Laden, the leader of al-Qaida, and invaded the country in October 2001.
Since then, Afghan people's lives have been totally changed.
Some 3 million Afghan children have dropped out of school to earn money to support their families.
