Malta will remain Libya's strategic partner, including in its position on the United Nations Security Council, Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela told his Libyan counterpart on Wednesday.
Abela reiterated the country's commitment in talks with the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity of the State of Libya, Abdul-Hamed Dbeibah.
In a brief statement to the press after the meeting, the PM's office quoted Abela as saying that Malta will continue offering its assistance to Libya to help achieve peace and stability.
Climate change, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and soaring food and energy prices are having a strong impact on citizens, Abela said. Despite its small size, the island of Malta has an influence when it speaks out in favor of peace, Abela stressed.
