"Governor of Texas Greg Abbott announced the arrival of the first bus of 60 migrants in Chicago on August 31. The third largest U.S. city was added as a drop-off location after Washington, D.C. and New York City.
'President Biden's inaction at our southern border continues putting the lives of Texans -- and Americans -- at risk and is overwhelming our communities,' said the Republican governor about his 'busing strategy.'
In protest of the federal government's border policy, Abbott directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to charter buses to transport thousands of migrants from his state to Washington in April and to New York in August.
