STORYLINE:
The Algerian Back-to-School Fair has not attracted a lot of visitors this year due to the remarkable increase in prices.
The government pledged to control prices by establishing solidarity markets in poor neighborhoods to enable families with low income to buy school supplies for their children.
These solidarity markets rely actually on the government support and the charity of school supplies producers and importers.
As many as 11 million schoolchildren are due to join primary, middle and secondary schools on Sept. 21, according to the Education Ministry.
