The Mid-Autumn Festival is generally regarded as one of the most important traditional festivals in China and is marked on the 15th day of the eighth month on the Chinese lunar calendar. This year's Mid-Autumn Festival falls on Saturday. Residents in Xinjiang Village of Tunxi District have a tradition of celebrating the festival with dragon dances and parades, to pray for good weather, peace and harvests.
